I don't call myself a jazz vocalist. That's too narrow a definition. I'm a jazz singer - someone who tells her own story to the listener.

Anna Buturlina jazz singer

The brightest star on Russian jazz vocal scene, Anna Buturlina was the first female artist to be featured on the cover of Russia's jazz magazine, Jazz.Ru.

At 19, Anna sang in the famed Anatoly Kroll Big Band, which skyrocketed her career. The singer of choice for Russia's most popular jazzmen: Georgy Garanian, Alexei Kuznetsov, Vladimir Danilin, Igor Butman, Daniil Kramer, Alex Rostotsky, Yakov Okun, Buturlina's discography includes two albums under her name, “Black Coffee” and “My Favorite Things.” Besides performing with her own band on major festivals and concert venues in Russia and Europe, Buturlina is the featured vocalist with Sergei Skripka's Russian State Symphony Cinema Orchestra and with the legendary Oleg Lundstem Jazz Orchestra. She also sings in movies, and is Disney's Russian singing voice: it's Anna Buturlina who spoke and sang for Princess Tiana in ' The Princess and the Frog' and Princess Elsa in 'Frozen'.
